Enrichment Programs

The majority of our PTO budget is spent on enrichment programs including field trips, in-school classroom programs and all school presentations that enhance the children’s curriculum and cultural experiences.   Grades 1-5 go on at least one field trip per year and every grade is provided with many wonderful in-school curriculum-related programs as well as all-school activities

An enrichment calendar is available during the year. Unless specifically stated, enrichment programs are for students and staff only.

Kindergarten – Tufts Traveling Treasure Trunk Show; Curious Creatures; MOS-Life Cycles; Marine Biologist-Ellen Goethel; Bubble Workshop from Discovery Museum

1st grade – Acton Science Discovery Museum; MOS-Animal Habitats; Odds Bodkin

2nd grade – Bats, PEM, Jane Winchell; Harvard Museum, Jami Lard-Perkins School for Blind; Women in History; Bugworks

3rd grade – Pollination-deWeerd Bees; MOS -Electromagnetism; Chris Lambert, Ch 7 WHDH Meteorologist; Lowell National Historical Park; Parker Tavern

4th grade – MOS, Franklin Park Zoo

5th grade – Wingmasters, Birds of Prey; Boston Historic Tour, Boston Symphony Orchestra

Volunteers coordinate the school’s enrichment programs and field trips.  New members are always welcome to share ideas, coordinate with teachers, and preview programs.
