Recycle That!

Helpsy Recycling

HELPSY, a for-profit company that offers local non-profit organizations and community groups easy, no cost-no risk fundraising programs that pays for items donated in our recycling collection boxes.   Each time the container is emptied, we earn funds!

As a textile recycler, HELPSY is driven to find uses for your used items.  We provide a convenient way for you to recycle your items or give them new life, rather than sending them to the landfill.

A Helpsy Recycling bin is in front of the school to the right.

  • 95% of what we collect is reused, upcycled or recycled. 50% is reusable, 45% is recyclable. It is first sorted by our partners and divided into grades. The higher grades are resold to thrift stores in North America and other second-hand markets around the world. The lower grades get turned into rags for industrial use or things like stuffing and insulation. Clothing reuse is a big deal. It reduces the enormous environmental burden of one of the most polluting industries in the world.

By dropping your used items in the collection box (must be bagged), you are reducing the volume sent daily to local landfills.

Acceptable Items

Anything you can wear, sleep in, or dry yourself off with! Clothes, shoes, sneakers, bags, accessories, bedding and towels, no matter their condition, as long as they are dry. Holes, rips doesn’t matter. Preferably clean. Please put them contained in plastic garbage bags. This keeps them dry and clean, and keeps our team safe.
