Welcome to the Reading Public Schools Student Services Program Guides for the 2020-2021 school year.
The guides organize the Student Services programming offered in the Reading Public Schools starting with Integrated Preschool opportunities, and extending through the Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle, High School and Transitional Age (18-22) experiences provided to our students.
The District-wide Program Guides are intended to provide an overview of the current structure of programming so that families can be informed participants in the Team process for their children.
It is our expectation that the guides exist as an ongoing reference aide for families and we will update as programs change over time. We anticipate that the guides will be a transparent and welcoming look into programming options with the understanding that any program can adjust and revise its elements to respond to the ever-changing needs of our students.
Services and programming for a student is determined by the student’s individual team and the team meeting process. Services could include related services such as Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech and Language, to services within the Learning Center or in one of our district wide Special Education Programs. While there is a vertical continuum for each of our programs, methodologies are adapted and selected based on age and developmental profiles. Student services and goals are developed by the IEP team and are individualized based on student needs. Additional supports and services are provided to students based on individual profiles.
