Reading Public Schools Registration

Welcome!

Welcome to Reading Public Schools! Our district is committed to meeting the needs of all learners. It is the vision of the Reading Public Schools to instill a joy of learning by inspiring, engaging and supporting our youth to become the innovative leaders of tomorrow.

We have 9 schools serving over 4000 students. Our youngest students attend the RISE Integrated Preschool. We have five elementary schools serving K-5 students including Barrows, Birch Meadow, Joshua Eaton, Killam and Wood End. Our middle school students attend either Coolidge Middle School or Parker Middle School serving students from grades 6-8 and students in grades 9-12 attend Reading Memorial High School.

New student registrations, re-enrolling student registration, and intradistrict transfer requests are conducted through the Superintendent’s Office. Please contact the Superintendent’s Office at 781-944-5800, or through RPSStudentRegistration@reading.k12.ma.us with additional questions.

All required forms and documents must be completed and submitted to the Superintendent’s Office before the student will be registered to attend school.

Getting Started!

New Student Registration Packets

Please download a registration packet to complete and 1) email all forms and documents to RPSStudentRegistration@reading.k12.ma.us or 2) return a hard copy of all forms and documents to the Superintendent’s Office located at 82 Oakland Road, Reading, MA 01867.

Registration documentation should include the student’s birth certificate, immunization records, copy of the student’s most recent physical report, proof of residency, proof of occupancy, and identity

Returning Students

For students re-enrolling within one calendar year of leaving the Reading Public Schools, please contact the Central Office at 781-944-5800 or email olivia.lejeune@reading.k12.ma.us

If you are re-enrolling a student who has been out of the Reading Public Schools for longer than one year, you will be required to complete the new student registration packet and provide updated documentation.

Intradistrict Transfer Requests

To request a transfer from one school to a different school within the Reading Public Schools district, please complete the following form and email the form to Thomas.Milaschewski@reading.k12.ma.us. All requests must be reviewed by the Superintendent who will then notify parents/caregivers of the outcome by email and/or mailed letter.

WHAT NEXT?

After you have submitted the registration packet and documentation to the Superintendent’s Office, you can expect to receive a confirmation email from RPSStudentRegistration@reading.k12.ma.us. At that point, all information will be shared with the individual school your student will be attending. The school will follow up and share details on next steps and information about your student’s first day of school in the Reading Public Schools district!

If you are withdrawing your student from Reading Memorial High School, please use this form.
