The following types of masks and face coverings will not be allowed at RPS due to its ineffectiveness. Recently, a research study was conducted from Duke University regarding the efficacy of different types of masks (see link below). What they found was that neck fleece, neck gaiters, bandanas, knitted masks, and masks with vents are not as effective as other cloth face coverings and medical face masks. Therefore, we are asking that those types of face coverings not be worn by staff. We will have a similar restriction when we open up school in a few weeks for students.

Every year, the Killam PTO sets up an easy way to order school supply kits for families. The deadline to order is July 1. A few changes for this year: • The PTO has eliminated the small amount extra we raise from the kits as an effort to reduce costs for families. This year school kits will not be a PTO fundraiser. Please though consider donating to the PTO in the fall by paying dues if you are able. • If you would like a school kit but would rather pay for it in late August (or if you cannot afford one due to financial hardship), please contact Principal Leveque with your name, your child’s name, and their grade. She will keep this information private but will communicate with the PTO how many additional kits we should order and pay for per grade, then in the first couple of days of school, you may pay for the kit for your child in the Killam office.
