Bus routes have been designed in accordance with School Committee policies and Massachusetts General Laws. Routes and stops are pre-established and stops. Bus routes are posted on the Reading Public Schools website.
If a parent/guardian has any questions about the routes and stops, please contact Olivia Lejeune at olivia.lejeune@reading.k12.ma.us for Reading resident students and Kurtis Martin (Kurtis.Martin@reading.k12.ma.us), METCO Director, for Boston resident students.
Please note, routes are subject to change and listed times are estimates which can be impacted by passenger load, traffic and weather patterns. We recommend being at your stop 10 minutes before estimated arrival.
Students enrolled in grades K-6 who reside more than 2 miles from their neighborhood school qualify for district-paid transportation and all Boston resident students. Transportation for all Boston resident students is paid for by the METCO grant.
Reading resident students who attend Killam Elementary School, Coolidge Middle School, Parker Middle School, and Reading Memorial High School are offered the option to purchase transportation for a fee, based on space availability on existing routes. Transportation is not provided to students who are enrolled in Reading Public Schools through the School Choice Program.
Transportation is a family responsibility if a student is not attending their home school and have been approved for a transfer request through the Superintendent's Office.
Please contact Olivia Lejeune at olivia.lejeune@reading.k12.ma.us to register for transportation for the 2023-2024 school year or if you have any questions and would like additional information about transportation.
